This E's new favorite game. Pretending to sleep in our bed. She really loves this, it's so funny! Pretty convincing little actress, eh?

First Day of School

Today was E's first day of school. She's been talking about it for weeks. I think it lived up to the hype. She loved it!

Another Recipe

Here is another fabulous recipe. For rice. Seriously. For me to post a recipe for white rice, you know it has to be good. It really is. Arroz Blanco: White Rice, from Food & Wine. Yum!

Chili's Salsa

If you know me well, you know I love salsa. And if you know me really well, you probably have "my" (actually J's mom's) fabulous salsa recipe. Came across this one the other day and it is also fab. Similar to the other, but maybe just a little better? Definitely tastes like Chili's- my favorite salsa. ever. Try it. You'll love it.

CHILI'S SALSA

1 (14 1/2 oz.) can tomatoes and green chilies

1 (14 1/2 oz.) can whole canned tomatoes (plus the juice)

4 teaspoons jalapenos (canned, diced, not pickled)

1/4 cup yellow onion (diced)

1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon garlic salt

1/2 teaspoon cumin

1/4 teaspoon sugar

and this is not on the recipe but we add:cilantro to taste

1. In food processor place jalapenos (optional) and onion and process for just a few seconds.

2. Add both cans of tomatoes, salt, sugar, cumin,cilantro and lime juice.

3. Process all ingredients until well blended but do not puree.

4. Place in covered container and chill.

5. Serve with your favorite tortilla chips!

Dolphins!

We have the Sea World annual pass, and this trip we fed the dolphins for the first time. Oh my goodness is it amazing! They come right up to you and you pet them and feed them. Ella absolutely loved it, and we abosultely loved watching her enjoy herself. A side note, as we were finished and exiting the exhibit Ella loudly says, "Can we go see Shamu now?!" Done with the dolphins, on to the next thing!

A Bit of Sass

I feel a theme beginning to recur. Sassy. But not sassy in a bad way, a good way. To me sassy is full of personality. Animated. Even dramatic. And maybe a little bit naughty. That is our girl. And I love her. P.S. In case you didn't notice, this is a totally fake smile, in place of a requested real one.

Childlike Wonder

Last night when we arrived home rather late, we were walking inside and E was captivated by the big glowing moon. She stayed outside while I went in to get Charlie, a minute later I peeked out on her, and she was looking up at the sky singing "Twinkle Twinkle." Melted my heart.
